Simple is good - this motto governs the concept of the 1. Republic Hotel. Relish a delicious cake made according to an old recipe and then you can go shopping or visit the beautiful historical sights of Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires.
Soon after your arrival you will feel at home. In order to sweeten the beginning of your stay, you will be offered an excellent welcome cake made according to old recipe that´s nearly a century old. The recipe comes from the director's grandmother, who lived at the time of the First Republic, and it still has great success even a hundred years later. The director himself anxiously guards the secret recipe.
The entire interior of the hotel is designed and laid out in the style of the First Republic, which shows in the selected colours and materials, as well as in the custom-painted pictures.
All rooms are designed in the same style and the designer used a combination of dark colours - especially purple and brown. Pictures complement and highlight the local First Republic atmosphere.
You can feel the coziness and homely atmosphere everywhere, so you are quickly settled into your hotel room. Even the smaller rooms provide complete comfort. Everything is very simply furnished, with the emphasis on functionality. Another simple pleasure is free tea and coffee, which you can make for yourself in the room.
The 1. Republic Hotel offers an unrivalled proportion between quality and price. It is located very close to Wenceslas Square and a metro station, so everything is easily reachable.
The hotel is amazingly calm and I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. From the very beginning the staff gave me the impression that I am more than welcome in the hotel.
I really enjoyed the welcome cake and I realized that my grandmother bakes a very similar one. Traditional recipes should be preserved for future generations.
