Beautiful ancient rooms
The only 5* hotel
Hire of Renaissance costumes and medieval feast
Welcome to the Ruze Hotel (the Rose Hotel)! The beautifully renovated building in the Renaissance style has been used as a hotel since the end of the 19th century, and is the pride of Cesky Krumlov. As the only hotel providing five star luxury and its Renaissance charm and period room furnishings takes you back into a time that has long since past.
Re-dress in period costumes and transfer back in time to another century. Then, feast like a king or queen with a Renaissance feast, until your heart's content. Food tables will sag under the weight of the food!
The Ruze Hotel, wrapped in many mysterious myths and stories, in the 16th century originally served as a Jesuit college. The subsequent appearance of the hotel wasn´t very spectacular in any way. The new owner, who one day decided to buy the hotel and reconstruct it to its present form later created a jewel from it while preserving its ancient character.
All of the hotel staff are also dressed in Renaissance costume, which helps to create the right atmosphere.
The Ruze Hotel is not just the only five-star hotel, but also the hotel with the largest number of rooms in the whole Cesky Krumlov. This is one of the great advantages; thanks to the memorial office buildings in the centre of Cesky Krumlov can no longer be expanded.
The traditional renaissance style has not been touched, so wherever you are in the hotel, you realize how unique it really is. An extensive collection of paintings, Persian carpets in the hallways and rooms, period dummies, painted shutters, original wooden floors and beams, carved Renaissance furniture, sofa bed reminiscent of the royal throne and sumptuous beds with decorative ends. You can see all this with every step in the hotel.
From both sides of the hotel you can see the Vltava River, wrapping the whole centre of Cesky Krumlov. The day and night view of the local castle towering majestically over the city is especially beautiful. Enjoy the view from some of the rooms.
The hotel is divided into two connected buildings - Modra Ruze and Cervena Ruze (Blue Rose and Red Rose). As the name suggests, the rooms are decorated in two basic colours. All rooms meet the highest standards of luxury and comfort, even when period furniture is used. Air-conditioning, heating and television are tastefully hidden behind carved wood or into a carved sideboard.
Everyone will surely be impressed with the apartments, where you will feel like you stepped into the castle bedroom. It is rather amusing that even the toilets are made of wood in the style of a royal throne.
Lovers of outdoor seating will be pleased with a large terrace overlooking the park and river. There are also extensive wine restaurant premises and conference halls for holding celebrations, trainings and other meetings. There are plans for a roof on the atrium for concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events.
Since Czech Krumlov is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site, parking at the hotel itself is unthinkable. The hotel has its own parking lot, 50 metres from the hotel, where the doorman will gladly bring your luggage.
One of the rarities, for which it is definitely worth a visit here, is the Rosenberg merriment. Its main part is a rich Renaissance dinner.
Before dinner you can select period costumes that are offered for hire. After all, it is not easy to dress a costume without help so you'll be happy to get help from local employees. It is recommended not to select costume dress that’s too tight, because after the banquet dinner you will virtually be bursting at the seams. They definitely don´t hold back on the food and apparently it is even allowed to throw the bones directly behind you.
They will serve you with a whole roast chicken, skewers, pork steaks, salads, bowls of fruit, ham, cheese and other goodies. Upon request an accompanying program with sword wielding knights, jugglers, fire breathers, dancers, live music and other attractions can be ordered. So there is nothing preventing you from enjoying a pleasant evening.
Occasionally during the summer various theatrical performances are held in the courtyard of the hotel, which will definitely liven up your stay. If you are looking for an even more world-renowned cultural experience, come to the palace gardens in a revolving auditorium, which is a rarity of its kind. You will be able to see unique performances in the countryside.
The Ruze is the only hotel in Cesky Krumlov where you can enjoy the comfort of wellness centre with counter swimming pool, large whirlpool, sauna, massage and a small fitness centre.
I consider Cesky Krumlov as the most beautiful town in the Czech Republic, so I was also charmed by the magic of the Ruze Hotel. Experience the feeling of a king – at the wave of a wand you can transfer into ancient times, it left me with a truly unforgettable experience. It was especially great to have the opportunity to spend night in period costume.
The wonderful old equipment of the rooms will enchant you, where you will soon forget the modern world full of glass and stainless steel. There is something to be said for the Persian carpets, sometimes creaky floors, beds and carved furniture. Breakfast and other meals from the menu are really honest portions with plenty to choose from, so be sure to include a little sport during your stay.
